From Founding to Succession
Father Gérard Cornellier’s project received the support of Cardinal Léger. In October 1952, the Eudists agreed to found the school. The first classes began in 1953 at Ludger-Duvernay School; the students moved into their new building in September 1954. Affiliated with the University of Montreal, the school initially offered a classical curriculum before becoming a private high school. The buildings and administrative operations were transferred in 1985; the Eudist corporation was dissolved in 1992. The school continued under the name Collège Jean-Eudes.
